Hojicha tea ANATAE
Anatae Hojicha is an organic Japanese green tea that is roasted and then ground. The roasting process changes the taste of the green tea, giving it a wonderful roasted flavor reminiscent of coffee or cocoa. It comes from the veins and stems of the tea plant that have been set aside during the harvesting and production of matcha and other teas.
Hojicha was born around 1920, in Japan, with the idea of "zero waste" in mind. In Kyoto, it quickly became a means of attracting customers to tea stores, thanks to the incredible aroma released by the roasting of tea leaves during its production.
The roasting process preserves the tea's vitamins, amino acids and antioxidants, while removing the tannins responsible for the bitterness of some teas. The result is a low-theine tea with an extremely mild taste.
