Pomerol - Château du Domaine de l'Eglise

€63.00

The vineyard is located in the shadow of the Pomerol bell tower. It is one of the oldest estates in the appellation, its origin dates back to 1589. Property of the Order of Hospitallers and the Church, it was sold in 1793 as church property, it will then remain in the same family until to be taken over in 1973 by Emile Castéja.

Its vineyard, 500 meters from Pétrus, is mainly composed of Merlot. From a terroir of clay and gravel with iron grime from the heart of Pomerol in the subsoil, Domaine de l'Église produces full, round, captivating and very elegant wines.

Tasting:

Dress with beautiful colors. Fruity (raspberry) and floral nose with aromas of anise. On the palate, pleasant wine, nice full body, with light tannins and notes of honey and spices.

Pairings:

Hot pan-fried foie gras, duck with orange, turkey with chestnuts, hare with Lucullus, tournedos Rossini with porcini mushrooms.
